Here you will find all the practical information you need to prepare your visit to the monastery of Saorge

Opening times

1 February to 31 May : Open every day except Monday 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm

1 June to 30 September : Open daily from 10am to 6pm

1 October to 31 October : Open every day except Monday 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm

Please note : last admission to the monument 30 minutes before closing time.

Closed annually from 1st November to 31st January

Closed on 1st May.

The ticket gives you access to the entire monument and its terraced garden.

By car

  • From Nice: A8 motorway towards Monaco - Menton - Genoa as far as the Ventimiglia (Italy) exit.
  • In Ventimiglia, follow signs for Breil-sur-Roya - Cuneo - Col de Tende as far as Fontan on the RD 6204, then turn right towards Saorge Centre.

Allow 1 hour 15 minutes from Nice / 40 minutes from Ventimiglia.

By train

From Fontan-Saorge station, take the bus to Saorge-Village. See timetable

  • No dogs allowed (except guide and assistance dogs)
  • No smoking on the entire site, inside or outside the monument. Pursuant to decree no. 2025-582 of 27 June 2025 on smoke-free areas, collective outdoor areas where children and teenagers may be present or exposed, in particular public parks and gardens, become smoke-free areas.
