TOURS

Self-guided tour

Discover the monument and garden under the responsibility and guidance of the group leader.

PLEASE NOTE: Under-age children must not be allowed to wander freely around the site. The adults accompanying them will act as guides and supervisors.

Dramatised tour

Around a theme defined with you (the Baroque period, daily life, frescoes, animals and nature, etc.) our guide - actor will take the children on a discovery of the monument and its mysteries. It's a fun, interactive tour, with a healthy dose of humour!

HERITAGE WORKSHOPS

Sundial workshop

After visiting the monument and discovering the rich collection of sundials that adorn the monastery's cloister, children will make their own paper sundial and decorate it in their own way, inspired by Baroque art and a collection of Latin maxims!

Fresco workshop

Just like a picture book, the frescoes in the monastery of Saorge illustrate the life of the Franciscans and recount the adventures of St Francis of Assisi. But what is a fresco? Children will experiment with this age-old technique and discover how to use pigments to create their own personal motif.

Garden workshop

The garden of the Saorge monastery opens onto a wild and unspoilt nature. For the Franciscans, this nature was a source of life and nourishment. Children will be able to discover the rich biodiversity of the garden's flora and fauna, guided by a nature guide who will reveal all the secrets!
